Amir R. Amir is the founder of Equitium. He served as a Managing Partner of The Equitium Group, LLC since its formation in 2006 and became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Equitium, Inc. in 2016.
Following Equitium’s acquisition of Caswell-Massey in 2007, he served as the CEO of that storied personal care company until 2011. In addition, he served as an Executive Chairman of another Equitium portfolio company, high-end fashion house Luca Luca, from 2008 until 2013.
Prior to Equitium, Mr. Amir was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in its Miami office from 2000 until 2005. While his client roster spanned many industries, his focus was on consumer products. From a functional perspective, he specialized in advising companies on product development and innovation and served as the project manager of McKinsey’s effort to develop a reference guide to drive innovation in the consumer packaged goods industry.
In 1994, he co-founded a company to publish the German-language edition of famed U.S. magazine Popular Science and oversaw its operation until 1996.
Mr. Amir is the author or co-author of two computer programming books, three book chapters for an aerospace engineering textbook, over 15 articles for the Encyclopaedia Britannica, as well as several academic papers.
Mr. Amir holds three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. He earned a B.S. in 1993, an M.S. in 1995, and an Engineer’s degree in 1998. He grew up in Vienna, Austria and is splits his time between New York and Miami.
